THEN…A Tuscan-inspired organic farm nestled in rolling fields of lavender in the heart of BC’s Fraser Valley…
Back in 1994, we had no idea what we were doing.
Recently retired and looking for our next step in life, we took a leap of faith and traded in our condo life in bustling downtown Vancouver for 80 acres of lush, wild farmland in rural Langley, BC.
When my husband Arleigh and I told our friends and family we wanted to garden they told us we were crazy. And maybe they were right – we didn’t know anything about gardening!
But as soon as we moved into our new farmhouse and got our hands in the soil, we were hooked.
For more than a dozen years, visitors to Tuscan Farm Gardens hiked along wooded trails, strolled through fields of lavender and wildflower meadows, sat beneath canopies of sweet flowering cherry trees, listened to song bird symphonies, watched the shenanigans of the resident beaver population, stayed for lunch and oft times even the night. Or not. Many choose simply to just sit under the shade of a huge paulownia tree and imagine themselves in Tuscany, France, Southern California or perhaps Mexico…
Then the garden gate closed.
NOW…Newly relocated on original Hudson Bay farmland, Tuscan Farm Gardens continues to be committed to organic farming and producing plant based body care products made with organic herbs. More and more people are discovering the benefits of organic products and buying local. We are a proud Canadian company. Our online store is open 24/7. Come April, the gates at the new farm swing open for visitors to the Apothecary Shop. Friday and Saturday, April – September. No bistro this time but complimentary lavender tea is served. In the new farmhouse, a private one bedroom suite on the top floor with spectacular views of mountains and meadows is available for extended stay business travelers.
Come visit!
Warmly,
Heather and Arleigh Fair
